Safesky alerts me about my own aircraft

Hi

Im flying a Super Dimona TMG and using safesky, buit it alerts me about my own aircraft.

I have both Flarm and Transponder Mode C in my airplane.

FLARM HEX: DD4F96

Transponder HEX: 45E353

I have tried putting in both HEX in Setup Types in Safesky, using FLARM and MODE-S option, but still i get alerts about my aircraft.

Will the MODE-S option work with mode C as this is what is installed in my aircraft?

Any clues on what is going on?

Br Kim

Hello,

Mode C transponders do not transmit any HEX code; that is only for Mode S (or ES) transponders.

It must be your FLARM transmissions that are being picked up by Safesky..

Hello Kim,

To ensure that all your equipment is recognised as a single aircraft, you must configure your FLARM device with the same HEX code as your transponder, and that the address type is set to “ICAO”

This allows SafeSky (and other systems) to correctly identify both devices as belonging to the same aircraft.

On a side note, it seems that your aircraft is actually equipped with Mode-S, which definitely explain the echo for yourself from FLARM:

OY-XZS - Diamond HK-36TC Super Dimona [36808] - Flightradar24

Hi

Thanks for your reply.
Can you explain how I can configure both flarm and transponder, it seems like I can only use one of them at the same time?

Your transponder shipped with an official ICAO hex code 45E353. This one code must be configured on your FLARM device. You need to check your FLARM user manual to update the default code from DD4F96 to 45E353 and set address type to ICAO.
