The app keeps using the location and using the battery even if “takeoff” mode is not in use, and even if the app is killed on the iPad.
This seems like a major bug to me.
Only way to prevent this that I’m aware of is revoking the location permission every time I stop using the app.
I have the same problem with my IPhone 16. Battery consumption of the SafeSky app continuing after the flight even though the app was killed. Background activity 21/24h indicated in the Battery section of the settings.
I have the same issue. Found this thread because I tried to find solutions.
Today I charged my iPad to 100%, left it unused for 6 hours and SafeSky had drained it down yo 75% according to the Battery-settings on iPad, and that’s without SafeSky even running. Literally the app not running on the device (not just in “take off” mode). So it must spawn some process that is not properly stopped.
Out of interest, have you tried “killing” the app? When using Android there is an option to “Force Stop” applications and, maybe, there is something similar for IOS.
That may give a clue to if SafeSky is draining your battery when not actually being used..
Yes, app was killed. Not just sent to the background like one usually does when switching apps etc. Also tried launching the app again and kill it again. After restarting the iPad the drain stopped. So I’ll see what happens after next flight. There was a Safesky app update yesterday so let’s hope for the best…. they don’t tell what they changed/fixed in the update though.
