I read somewhere about the open protocol format used for communication. Is this specified somewhere? We are working on a similar system and it would be good to compare notes.

In order to encourage developments of third party apps, SafeSky is indeed exposing a public API to anyone who wants to display SafeSky traffic into their apps or website. Traffic is broadcasted in an anonymous flavour.
This API is based on an open protocol called ADS-BI, which is directly derived from the industry standard ADS-B. It’s exchanging messages over the Internet instead of radio waves.
