BLE service

Hi,

The SafeSky library has a book about the BLE service

Documentation | SafeSky Library

How is the service enabled on the SafeSky Android app?

I searched and found mention of adding it in the external traffic device section

“Enable the option for BLE NMEA Broadcast (sometimes called Virtual NMEA Emitter)” but it is not listed.

How do I activate it?

Thanks.

Hello,

BLE is used to connect SafeSky, external devices like the Aero Tracker and the FlySky display and SkyDemon together. It just works as a blue tooth connection.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22+ smartphone and it works simply and very well.

I hope this answers your question..

Do you have one of those devices connected?

I had a reply from SafeSky telling me this is currently disabled in the public release - if one or all of these devices is connecting and using the connection then it is something that the device can control and is hidden to the rest of the world.

I´m hoping SafeSky will let me use it as I have developed a full blown EFIS system and would love to add traffic awareness to it but without this connection it isn´t possible from SafeSky.

I have both the Aero Tracker and FlyData display connected to my phone / SkyDemon.

It may be that an “unknown” external device needs to be “integrated” into SafeSky. I think the SafeSky team will have to confirm that point..
