How to edit the map?

In our region there are some mistakes on the the charts. E.g. Heights of chimneys are wrong. How can we correct this?

How to contribute updates to the SafeSky map layers

What is the source of SafeSky’s map layers?

SafeSky’s map layers are built on the openaip project, which gathers worldwide aeronautical data through contributions from a dedicated community of aviation enthusiasts.

How can I contribute if I notice missing or outdated information?

If you come across an airfield that is not on our map, or find that some of the information is outdated, contributing to openaip is straightforward and greatly appreciated. By helping to update and refine maps, you not only enhance SafeSky’s functionality but also support numerous other third-party projects that use the same data.

Where can I contribute?

You can make your contributions by visiting the openaip website: openaip.net. Your involvement makes a significant impact on the aviation community!

Seems to be very difficult. For editing heights of obstacles you have to edit them on openstreetmap and hope openaip takes it over. Not sure if it really works … Do you have good experiences doing this and make it work?

The map used to show a gliding site in southern England which totally ceased operations a few years ago (houses built on it). I reported the issue and the symbol for the site did get removed, but it took a few months I seem to recall.

Thanks Antony. I did some editing and will report when/if it works :+1:
