Any News about the Avionix Aero Tracker?
https://www.safesky.app/device
Always in progress and in the hands of AVIONIX.
CE certification in progress.
Best regards,
Thx for the update @xtof
Hi,
I contacted Avionix in Nov 24 and this was their reply:
"Hello Robert,
From the hardware side the trackers are available, but there are still some issues on the integration on SafeSky side. You would need to check with SafeSky what they think it can be launched.
Regards,
Ralf Heckhausen
AVIONIX ENGINEERING"
What’s the latest regarding this integration?
Kind regards,
Robert
I have seen that the Aero Tracker is available. I think it is a very interesting device with smart features. I would be interested in some feedback: is the LTE reception better than on a smartphone? Will the device be connected directly to a tablet with e.g. foreflight, or do I have to open the safe sky app on the tablet which connects to the Aero tracker? Is a SIM card with Data plan included? Thanks
Hi Smurf,
The tracker is available, but still in an experimental setup: AERO Tracker – AVIONIX ENGINEERING
(not yet Flarm air-to-air included)
LTE reception is quit good in your own country, as it is an international roaming simcard. However, the best celphones have still better reception.
The Tracker is directly connected to nav software like SD or Foreflight, over Bluetooth, much better then over wifi. Simcard with data plan is included.
Thank you! I am already using it and quite like it:
- very good battery runtime, easily 8 hours
- Good reception and transmission
- I like that when I connect it to a tablet I am not disturbed by emails/whatsapps or phonecalls
